Universal Hero Kamal Hassan’s Cheekati Rajyam shooting is now completed. The entire shooting was completed in a record 39 working days. The film will now enter in to extensive post production phase.

Strong Buzz emerging from Kollywood is that the movie is a heavily inspired from a French film in which the entire story takes place in one night. The story revolves around a reputed cop and Kamal Hassan will be seen as a cop in this flick.

Interestingly, Kamal had ropped in three action choreographers – Gilles Conseil, Silivain Gabet and Virginie Arnaud to compose the fight sequences of the film. Kamal Hassan’s associate Rajesh is directing the film which is a bilingual made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. Trisha is the female lead.

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu had taken the US box office by a storm. The Thursday premieres were screened in a record number of 175 locations and the latest update from Rentrack is that the movie had collected $532.5K gross from the collections of 127 locations. There are still some locations collections to be added.

But by now, this is the highest Premiere collection in Telugu films apart from Baahubali. Before Baahubali, the record is also with Mahesh Babu, his Aagadu had collected $523K from the Premieres then. Baahubali had shattered the record left right and center by collecting $1.373M. So Srimanthudu is in the second position now in the over all list.

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus film, Baahubali had completed its four weeks run at the box office. The movie had amassed around 102.65 Crore share only in the Telugu states in this four weeks run. The movie after taking the box office by a storm, had already slowed down significantly and from now should compete with Srimanthudu which released today.

Now, this is not a movie in the genre of a Muni or Kanchana where there is scope for substantial performance. It is a pucca mass masala film which means that it is a huge climb down for Kajal Agarwal.

For someone who has acted opposite the likes of Mahesh Babu and Junior NTR, acting opposite someone like Lawrence is like getting demoted from 10th class to LKG.

Earlier, Samantha acted opposite Bellamkonda Srinivas. But then, the director of that film was VV Vinayak and Samantha was paid an outrageous amount for that film, an offer no heroine could refuse.

Here, Kajal would definitely not get paid that kind of money. Besides, her market in Tamil is far lower compared to Tollywood. So, is she now desperate for roles?

Just days ahead the release of Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan starrer Srimanthudu, rumours were rife that actor Jagapati Babu was “upset” with the film. Apparently rumour mongers were abuzz with the speculation that Jagapathi was not happy with director Koratala Siva as he said to had trimmed his portion in the film and thus made it a complete Mahesh Babu-centric film.

However, as Srimanthudu opened to super positive reviews, it’s heard that all is well between Jagapati and Koratala and the duo are happy with the way critics lapping up the film and movie setting cash registers ringing at Box Office. Jagapati apparently given up his upset and expressed his joy openly. He wrote on his Twitter page, “And d effort of our team is finally out. Happy 2 hear positive reviews. I m sure u all shall enjoy  #Srimanthudu.”

It’s Boyapati Srinu’s directorial that changed the trajectory of Jagapati’s career and gave him a much-needed breather to his second innings. Since then Jagapati never looked back and continuing his hit spree. Next he will be seen as father to Jr NTR in Nannaku Prematho and it’s being wielded by Sukumar who carved out a niche for himself. Looks like, Jagapati is on a roll.

“Baahubali” is the mightiest movie that has hit Indian screens ever. For that reason, it became the top grosser in India and also the first ever South Indian movie to storm into 500 crore club. Come what may, these commercial films of our star heroes can’t compete with that flick for sure. Would you believe if Srimanthudu beats Baahubali?

Tough to believe but Srimanthudu ticket sales has beat Baahubali for sure. This is not about the number of tickets sold, but the amounts they are sold for. For the Thursday evening premiere shows across USA, many enthusiastic fans have brought each ticket with Rs 15000 approximately. That’s the highest price a ticket has fetched for any Telugu movie so far, with the last one being somewhere around 8-9K for Baahubali premiere shows. In a way Srimanthudu has beaten Baahubali in that area.

With positive reports being heard from all quarters, we have to see how far Srimanthudu will flex his muscles in terms of collections. Keeping Baahubali aside, fans are expecting this film of Mahesh to cross the scores ticked by Attarintiki Daredi. That’s a long way to go, let’s wait and watch.

The humongous success of Baahubali  has made its stars the most admired across the country. The craze is no less in Kerala as Baahubali collected close to 13.5 crores gross until today and is still continuing a successful run despite new Malayalam releases. This is a huge number for a dubbed film.

To cash in on the grand success of Baahubali, popular Malayalam film production house, Ifar International, has now purchased the dubbing rights of Prabhas’ previous blockbuster, Mirchi. The Malayalam producer is smart enough to mention on the film’s release poster saying, “Stars of Baahubali once again”.

Both Baahubali and Mirchi had Prabhas and Anushka playing the leads and their chemistry worked wonders at the Telugu box-office. Looks like the Kerala film lovers have been smitten by the charms of both the top Tollywood stars. The Malayalam version of Mirchi will release soon after Baahubali ends its dream run in Kerala. So for Prabhas’ Kerala fans, celebrations will not stop with Baahubali.
