A Clash of Titans: The Upcoming Sankranti Film Race

0

The anticipated Sankranti film releases are poised to ignite a cinematic battle, reminiscent of the epic power struggles in “Game of Thrones.” With each production house vying for the coveted release slots, the situation is rife with suspense and strategic maneuvering.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s highly anticipated film, “Vishvambhara,” has undergone a significant shift in its release plans. Initially slated for Sankranti, the film is now being considered for a postponement of five months. This strategic move has cleared the path for Ram Charan’s “The Game Changer” to occupy the coveted Christmas slot. While this news has delighted some fans, it has also left others disheartened.

Uncertainty continues to surround the release date of Balayya 109, pending the finalization of its title. January 12th has been floated as a potential release date, but an official announcement remains elusive. Meanwhile, Allu Aravind and Bunny Vaas are working tirelessly to bring Naga Chaitanya’s “Thandel” into the Sankranti race. Should “Thandel” fail to secure a Sankranti release, it may target Republic Day instead.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, producer Dil Raju is contemplating avoiding a Sankranti release for Venkatesh’s upcoming film with director Anil Ravipudi. Despite the film’s rapid progress, Venky’s fans have expressed disappointment over the potential delay. Dil Raju maintains that releasing Venkatesh’s film shortly after their pan-India project is feasible, but the final decision remains uncertain.

The Sankranti race is far from over, with several other films vying for a spot. Sundeep Kishan’s “Mazaka,” Bellakonda Sai Srinivas-Nara Rohit-Manchu Manoj’s “Garudan” remake, and Ajith’s “Good Bad Ugly” are all in the running. The ultimate lineup of Sankranti releases will depend on a series of strategic decisions and negotiations. While Venkatesh has expressed his willingness to abide by the producer’s decision, the upcoming weeks will reveal the twists and turns of this high-stakes game.

Milan, Oct 15 (IANS) The 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) opened at the MiCo Convention Center in Milan, Italy. The event has drawn more than 10,000 space experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and professionals worldwide. Italian President Mattarella attended the opening ceremony.

This year’s congress, themed ‘Responsible Space for Sustainability,’ focuses on promoting the sustainable development of space technologies globally, ensuring that future space exploration and utilisation strike a balance between scientific advancement and environmental protection, Xinhua news agency reported.

Throughout the week, over 200 technical sessions will be held, covering a wide range of topics, including sustainable exploration of the Moon and Mars, space-based Earth observation for climate change, the role of private companies in space development, and applications of artificial intelligence.

Clay Mowry, president of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), highlighted that this year’s congress is unprecedented in scale, with over 7,000 abstracts submitted from 106 countries. In addition, more than 530 exhibitors from 46 countries will showcase the latest advancements in space technology. “This is the most exciting time in space since the Apollo era in the 1960s,” Mowry said.

Li Guoping, chief engineer of the China National Space Administration, said China is committed to expanding international cooperation in space exploration. He also presented lunar soil samples collected by China’s Chang’e-6 mission from the far side of the Moon, marking the first time this sample has been displayed abroad, which stirred up a round of applause from the attendees.

The IAC, held annually since 1950, is the largest global event in the aerospace sector. This year’s five-day congress is organised by the IAF and hosted by the Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

NASA’s Europa Clipper mission to lift off on Monday

0

New Delhi, Oct 14 (IANS) After being stalled due to hurricane Milton, NASA’s Europa Clipper mission aims to fly to Jupiter’s icy moon Europa in search of life on Monday, SpaceX has said.

Europa Clipper will launch its first mission aboard SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket from NASA Kennedy’s Launch Complex 39A in Florida at 12:05 p.m. ET. (9:35 pm IST) . It was earlier scheduled to fly on October 10.

“The spacecraft will help scientists determine if Europa’s salty ocean harbours the ingredients for life,” SpaceX said.

The Elon Musk-led company said it is the sixth and final flight for the first stage side boosters supporting this mission. The boosters previously assisted in the launch of USSF-44, USSF-67, USSF-52, Hughes JUPITER 3, and NASA’s Psyche mission.

The $5 billion Europa Clipper spacecraft is the largest NASA has ever developed for a planetary mission. Its solar arrays span more than 30 metres when deployed and weigh nearly 6,000 kilograms at launch.

The spacecraft is powered by 24 engines, and its propulsion module is an aluminium cylinder 3 metres long and 1.5 metres wide.

Europa Clipper is slated to travel 2.6 billion kilometres to reach the Jupiter system, where it will arrive in 2030. During the journey, it will make a flyby of Mars in February 2025, and then of Earth in December 2026.

It is also expected to make nearly 50 flybys of Jupiter’s icy moon Europa, where it will survey conditions suitable to support life. It

The findings will help scientists better understand the astrobiological potential for habitable worlds beyond our planet.

According to NASA scientists, Europa is one of the most promising places in the solar system to hunt for extraterrestrial life.

Several missions — including Pioneer 10 and 11, Voyager 1 and 2, Galileo, Juno, Cassini, and New Horizons — have gathered strong evidence that Europa contains a huge ocean in its interior, beneath a shell of ice estimated to be between 2 to 20 miles (3 to 30 kilometres) thick the US space agency said.

Ready to talk to Putin for peace in Ukraine, says Germany’s Scholz

0

Berlin, Oct 16 (IANS) Ending months of no contact, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday signalled willingness to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin for a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine.

Scholz expressed his openness to talk to the Russian leader, with whom he had last had a conversation in December 2022, as he called for another peace summit on Ukraine, where Russia would also be present, RT reported. Russia was not invited to the peace summit held in Switzerland in June, and it ended inconclusively with other key nations not participating or signing the final communique.

“Therefore, it is also true that when we are asked whether we will also talk to the Russian President, we answer – yes, we will,” the Chancellor said while addressing the German Parliament.

However, he underlined that the potential negotiations with Moscow, however, would not happen “over the heads of Ukraine and never without deliberation with our closest partners”.

The German leader’s statement came days after his Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said that Putin is not willing to speak with Scholz about brokering peace in Ukraine.

However, Russia maintained that it had not received any proposal from Berlin for a phone call between Scholz and Putin.

“No. There were no proposals. We have said repeatedly that Putin remains open to contact,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Russian media.

He had also dismissed German media reports that Scholz wanted to speak with Putin by phone ahead of the November G20 meeting in Brazil.

Peskov had maintained that the two leaders had “no common issues” to discuss, and described the ties between the two countries as being “reduced to virtually zero”.

Six killed, 43 injured in Israeli airstrike on municipal building in Lebanon

0

Beirut, Oct 16 (IANS) Six people, including the mayor, were killed, and 43 others wounded on Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike targeting the buildings of the Nabatieh Municipality in Lebanon, according to Lebanese medical and military sources.

The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that an Israeli warplane fired four air-to-ground missiles at the Nabatieh Municipality building and the building of the Union of Municipalities, killing the mayor, Ahmad Kahil, and several municipality members, injuring several others, and destroying the infrastructure, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Civil Defence teams, the Lebanese Red Cross, and the Islamic Health Authority are working to remove the rubble of the two buildings and search for missing persons, the sources said.

Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack, saying it deliberately targeted a meeting of the municipal council discussing the city’s service and relief situation.

The new “aggression” conveys the message that “the international community should act immediately instead of remaining silent about Israeli crimes,” Mikati said.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants announced on Wednesday that it had filed a new complaint with the UN Security Council regarding the Israeli attacks on Lebanon during the period October 3-14.

This is part of the periodic complaints submitted by the ministry through the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the UN headquarters in New York to document the Israeli offensive and pressure the international community and the Security Council to act to stop it.

Since September 23, the Israeli army has been conducting intensive airstrikes on Lebanon in a sharp escalation with Hezbollah.

The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon since the beginning of the Hezbollah-Israeli conflict on October 8, 2023, has reached 2,350, while injuries went up to 10,906, Health Ministry figures showed on Tuesday.

Shocking Name Changes of Telugu Superstars!

0

the trend of South Indian actors changing their names for career success, which has recently become a topic of interest. In the Telugu film industry, a number of actors have modified their screen names either for better recognition or to bring luck to their careers. This article delves into this evolving trend, which reflects a broader tendency within the Indian film industry.

Prominent actors like Sai Dharam Tej, a well-known hero, have made notable changes to their names. Sai Dharam Tej, for instance, shortened his name to Sai Tej. This name change was made public, and it’s believed to be a strategic move to refresh his brand identity in the competitive film industry. Such decisions are often guided by factors like numerology, astrology, or simply for easier recognition and appeal to a broader audience.

Other actors have also followed suit. Stars like Ram Pothineni and Kiccha Sudeep have also tweaked their names slightly for similar reasons. For instance, Ram, who used to be known as Ram Pothineni, started using just “Ram” as a brand name, whereas Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep has branded himself simply as “Sudeep” over time. These name changes, while seemingly minor, can have significant implications in their professional and personal journeys.

Sundeep Kishan, another popular actor, also adopted a new screen name, changing his name slightly from “Sundeep Kishan” to “Sundeep Kishnr.” Such alterations are aimed at reinventing their public personas, enhancing their appeal, and connecting with a broader fan base. This trend showcases the adaptability of actors in a constantly changing entertainment landscape, where every little detail, including a name, could potentially influence their stardom and career trajectory.
