No Telangana Before 2014 ?

Union Home Minister Chidambaram is a hard nut to crack. AP journalists in Delhi keep trying to crack him on the Telangana issue. He keeps giving the same answer untiringly again and again. Some major parties including the Congress have yet to clarify their stand on the Telangana issue. This is his stock answer.

He has put forth another strange aspect that home ministry is not a party to the issue. What does it mean? Is home ministry not part of the central government?
Chidambaram said it was for the government to take a decision. When it took the decision, home ministry was bound to implement it, he clarified. As per Chidambaram’s statement, YSR Congress, Congress and TDP were among the major parties that were yet to clarify their stand.
But the strange thing is that the home ministry has not asked any of these parties to clarify their stand. Excepting his media statements, Chidambaram or his ministry never wrote letters to any of these parties to urgently state their stand, as decision on the important issue was pending. Chidambaram also made no efforts to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the Telangana issue. All he has done so far was blaming some parties for centre’s inaction. Now he is even absolving his own ministry for its inaction. He says his ministry has nothing to do with the Telangana problem or the decision on it. If a decision is taken, we will implement it, he is saying.
What a great way to tackle a major problem!Indications now make it clear that there would be no Telangana before the 2014 elections. Even the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao is stating that his party would settle the issue with the people in 2014.
So it is going to be a long wait until 2014?

Mystery of Film Making !

0
Film making involves lot of struggle and to become a successful film maker it requires lot of work, tact in handling people, strong financial support. Even when people have all these skills and many more, tollywood has seen many film makers suffer huge losses and face complete wash out losing each and every penny. However when common man has a look at some of the film makers, one wonder how quickly they are producing the films and from where they are getting finances that are required for producing films.
Many are casting doubts on sources of their funds considering huge costs involved in film making and similarly the risks associated with it. Most of the films in tollywood film industry are produced by giants like RR Movie Makers and recently Reliance and UTV motion pictures entered the arena. The remaining 90% of the top heroes films are produced by Dil Raju who even owns theaters across Nizam, Bandla Ganesh who says he is getting his funds from real estate and poultry business and Bellamkonda Suresh.
Even though these people suffered some huge losses, they struck back and each ot these top film makers have minimum of five projects in hand. When Gabbar Singh became sensational hit, many raised questions on Bandla Ganesh’s source of income and some even accused him of being APPCC’s chief Botsa Satyanarayana. Now tollywood film makers stopped revealing their profits for the fear of attracting IT department’s attention. and thus invite raids on them. This happened during ‘Dookudu’ and later for ‘Business Man’ film makers. Whatever may be the statements of the film makers there are many uncleared doubts in the minds of movie lovers who say Film Making is a Mystery!

0
Asking supporters to stay away from violence, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare and members of his team Tuesday apologised to the media for the scuffle the night before. Hazare even threatened to stop the protest if people continued to misbehave.
A fight broke out between Team Anna supporters and mediapersons around 10 p.m. Monday at Jantar Mantar with protestors alleging that the media was not projecting their movement in the right light. The Broadcast Editors’ Association (BEA) condemned the incident and demanded an apology from Team Anna.
“I am pained by what happened Monday night. Our protest rests on non-violence and we don’t have to indulge in violence or abuse. There is lot of power in non-violence and if you get involved in violence, it will give the government a chance to divide us,” Hazare told the gathering at the venue.
Appreciating the media’s role in taking their protest to masses, Hazare said: “They have been stationed here for over 18 hours and our fight wouldn’t have reached masses had they been not writing or showing it. We need to do our work and let them do whatever they want to.”
“I apologise to the media on behalf of people who have misbehaved with them. I appeal to people not to get involved in such acts, else I would have to stop this protest,” said the 75-year-old activist.
Team Anna members Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia also tendered apologies, saying that the media had been a big supporter of their fight against corruption since it started 2011.Kejriwal appealed to the crowd to behave with media with respect.
“The media has become a part of this movement… talk to them with folded hands. If you don’t agree with them, go and have a discussion with them but don’t indulge in unruly behaviour. It is not their fault (media) but their editors have to decide if they want to support people’s movement or corrupt politicians,” said Kejriwal.

Why CM is silent on Jagan ?

The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy who has concluded his 3-day visit to Srikakulam district as part of his ongoing Indiramma Baata programme on Sunday, has made efforts to project himself as an able administrator and a ruler concerned with the problems of farmers, women, students and other key sections of the society.
The Chief Minister who has assailed the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the recent by-elections, chose to maintain silence on the rebel MP. He has however taken on the TDP Chief Chandra Babu Naidu in most of his public meetings and media conferences. He has compared Naidu to the proverbial crane which pretends to be in penance standing on single leg in a lake and swallows the curious fish that come near. He said BCs would meet the same fate as the innocent fish. This anecdote was highlighted by the media, to the discomfiture of the TDP supremo.
There is curious discussion among the Congress circles on why Kiran chose to ignore Jagan, in the context of the senior party leader V Hanumantha Rao calling him a covert of the YSR scion. Was it the decision of the Congress high command not to focus on Jagan any longer?
This is the question being widely debated. Though there was no official indication from the party leadership to leave Jagan alone, the attitude of the CM shows that there was change in the strategy of the party leadership, which has earlier given instructions to the state leaders to make a frontal attack on Jagan during the by-elections.
Is it because the party has realized that attacking Jagan proved to be counter productive and caused the rout of the party in the recent by-elections? Or, is it because there was some understanding between the Congress and the Jagan? Or, is there some understanding between Kiran and Jagan as alleged by Hanumantha Rao? These questions are being discussed with considerable curiosity by the state leaders. Sensing the mood of the Congress high command, most Congress leaders also had stopped attacking Jagan.
Whatever the instructions the Chief Minister might have received, he has concentrated more about enlightening the people about various welfare schemes available to them and impressing that he was working with right earnestness. He has showered many benefits on the people of Srikakulam. Kiran who is credited with hitting 14 sixes in a first class cricket match has tried to impress young students with his cricketing prowess. He has mixed with inmates of social welfare hostels and played cricket with them in the morning, before starting his busy official schedule.

Chandrababu & Chiru blames Railways for Disaster

Congress MP K. Chiranjeevi and Telugu Desam party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu blamed the negligence by the railways for Monday’s train disaster at Nellore. Both the leaders visited Nellore railway station and inspected the compartment, which was gutted in the fire killing 35 people.Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy too appeared unhappy with the railways and pointed out that this is second such incident in the state in less than three months.
“Railways have to think seriously (about passenger safety) and do safety audit of all trains,” he told reporters after going around the charred compartment.”People in large numbers travel by trains. They have confidence in railways,” the chief minister said while calling for a comprehensive probe by the railways.
Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi said railways were not paying attention to passengers’ safety. He stressed the need for speeding up the modernisation of railways.”Indian railways is the largest organization in the world but we still follow the old safety and security systems introduced during the British time,” said the Rajya Sabha member.
Former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu alleged that railways had no seriousness towards the passenger safety. “The negligence by the centre and railways is to be blamed for this tragedy. At least now they should wake up from deep slumber,” he said. The TDP chief said two lakh posts in railways were vacant and many of them relate to safety. He criticized the railways for not sending forensic experts to collect the evidence despite the doubts that the tragedy could be a result of sabotage.
