Whenever a film of director Rajamouli is arriving the rest of the movies tend to make way and wait patiently for the craze to come down. Given his brand value, even one week after the film releases, the other movies don’t dare to mess with Rajamouli ventures. And here is an example for that.
It is heard that the film ‘Julayi’ starring Allu Arjun and directed by Trivikram Srinivas was due to hit the screens on July 13th. However, the latest update is that it has been postponed for a week or two. Sources reveal the reason for that is the overwhelming response to ‘Eega’.

In this process, ‘Julayi’ is reportedly paying the price. Already, the film has been in the anvil since long let us see how much more longer it takes.

Nagarjuna rubbishes Rumors on Casino !

0

The actor has rubbished reports that he is about to start a casino in Goa. “I am shocked to hear such things. I have never even thought of such a thing in my life. I am not going to open a casino or a resort in Goa although I have invested in hotels and realty,” he said.Tollywood stars have been known to frequent casinos whenever they are shooting in Las Vegas or other such places. Nagarjuna too has been to casinos, but “not to gamble”. The actor said he has been to casinos to observe the place and the mood of the people.
“But I have never been able to stay for more than 10 to 15 minutes. I may be rich and can afford a few games, but personally, I don’t believe in blowing up hard-earned money to a quirk of chance. I have always kept a safe distance from such dens,” he said.He claimed that he has never gambled on card games either. “Cards is another addiction and I have seen people cursing it. I have never played cards for betting. I would prefer to watch a movie or read a book instead of wasting money and time on cards,” he said.
Talking about films today, Nagarjuna blamed the SMS culture for hurting box office collections. “We used to have good initial collections but now viewers SMS their opinion to friends as soon as they come out of the theatres. That has dented our collections. Personally, I have also returned a few times from the theatre without watching a film after receiving an SMS from a friend about a particular film.
Watching a bad film is tiresome and I don’t blame viewers for opting out. But novel themes are still patronised by audiences and it’s a good sign,” he said.Nagarjuna will be soon seen in the socio-fantasy Damararukam, devotional saga Shirdi Sai and a love story. “I have always tried to mix the genres of my films and this time it’s happening back-to-back.”

SC rejects petition against Pranab Mukherjee

0
Observing that it cannot be a “theatre for farcical play,” the Supreme Court today dismissed a petition, accusing Pranab Mukherjee of resorting to corruption in soliciting votes in the Presidential poll and warned an advocate of stringent action if he comes forward with similar pleas in future. A bench of justices Aftab Alam and H L Gokhale initially imposed cost of Rs 50,000 on the petitioner-cum-advocate Manohar Lal, but later waived it after the counsel pleaded for mercy.
The apex court warned the advocate that it would not show any sympathy if he comes out with such similar petitions in future. “You are trying to destroy the system. This time we are sparing you. if you continue to file such petitions, don’t expect any indulgence from us,” warned Justice Alam, who headed the bench. Sharma in his petition had said Pranab Mukherjee ought to be prosecuted under section 7 and section 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act as he had been soliciting votes from MLAs and MPs for his presidential election which Sharma claimed was illegal. According to the petitioner, Mukherjee being a public servant ought not to seek votes which he was doing even while holding the charge of finance ministry.
If a presidential candidate is seeking votes, what is wrong in it, the bench asked Sharma while dismissing the petition as “worthless”. A similar petition by Sharma against Mukherjee, was dismissed by the Delhi High Court on June 29.

Minister Ponnala gets shock from Supreme Court !

IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah has suffered a setback when the Supreme Court upheld the High Court judgment to recount votes in his election.Ponnala was elected to the Assembly from the Jangaon constituency of Warangal district in 2009 over his TRS rival by a slender majority.
Kommuri Pratap Reddy, the defeated TRS candidate, had filed a petition in the High Court challenging Ponnala’s election. He contended that 80 votes were irregularly added to Ponnala and the invalid votes of postal ballot were also added to his account.
Accepting the contention, the High Court ordered recounting of votes. Then, Ponnala challenged the High Court’s judgment in the Supreme Court. His counsel argued that there was no evidence to show that his client’s election was irregular. However, the Apex Court did not accept the argument of Ponnala’s lawyer. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the IT minister for wasting its time.
Responding to the judgment, Ponnala said that there was no truth in the argument of the petitioner. Stating that truth would ultimately win, he said he was not afraid of anything.
TRS CANDIDATE HAILS JUDGMENT
Kommuri Pratap Reddy, the defeated TRS candidate, has welcomed the Supreme Court’s judgment. He said that with the judgment, it became clear that Ponnala had resorted to irregularities. He demanded that Ponnala resign from both posts as minister and MLA if he had any moral values. He said that Ponnala should come forward voluntarily for recounting.

Eega Movie Review – 3.5/5

Rating: 3.5/5
Banner: Varahi Chalana Chitram
Presented by: D.Suresh babu
Cast: Sudeep, Nani, Samantha, Srinivas reddy, Thagubothu ramesh
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry, Anantha Sreeram, Chaitanya Prasad and Keeravani
Styling: Rama Rajamouli
Dialogues: Janardhana Maharshi
Art: S Ravinder
Editing: Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao
Cinematography: Senthil Kumar
Music: M M Keeravani
Producer: Sai Korrapati
Story-Screenplay-Direction: SS Rajamouli
CBFC rating: U/A
Release date: 06-07-2012
Theater Watched: Bramarambha, Premiere show with Eega Team.

Story Line: Nani (Nani) is neighbor to Bindu (Samantha), he falls in love with her and she too responds positively but doesn’t express it. Sudeep(Sudeep) is multi- millionaire who runs construction business, and he lusts Bindu. Sudeep comes to know about their affair and kills Nani. Nani, in his rebirth is born as ‘Eega’ (a housefly) and remembers the incident occurred in last birth and how he takes revenge on Sudeep is what the movie is about?
Performances: Nani’s role is limited to a run time of 20minutes. He came up with some good work. Samantha is cute and lovable. Sudeep steals the show with fantastic performance in the negative role. Other than the three characters there are very few notable characters. The visual effects have come out very well. The cinematography is good. Music is hum able. The background score is superb. Considering the special effects part the Direction is good. But overall the movie lacks a gripping and interesting narration. The production values are rich.
Analysis: The most anticipated film of the year 2012, ‘Eega’, is a fantasy film written and directed by Tollywood’s ace director SS Rajamouli. The movie is simultaneously released in Tamil and Malayalam also. The very idea of making the Fly (Eega) as protagonist is unique and interesting. The Execution part could have been better (The way story was told). Janardhan Maharshi assisted Rajamouli in the Telugu script (Dialogues) work and Crazy Mohan in the Tamil script
Nani is good and natural. He is confined to only a few romantic & love scenes with Samantha which came well. The song picturised on them was decent. Samantha suited to the role well. She looked girl next door in those costumes. Sudeep is the show stealer with fabulous acting (It’s difficult to come up with such expressions and acting with no real character around). He impresses well as the bad guy. He evoked some laughs when Eega irritates him.
Rajamouli is weak in comedy department and this movie too has very limited comedy (only the Eega and Sudeep episodes designed in the typical tom and Jerry style) but the movie entertains in the form of Visual effects. The CGI and VFX work is top notch. As Rajamouli said Eega was started as a small-budget experimental film but when it started developing it grew bigger with the budget of quality VFX work. With over 90 minutes of realistic animation and visual effects, the total film costed more than 30crores.
Music has already a couple of chart busters aired on TV. The Background score by Keeravani is very good. He delivered the required output. He usually comes up with very good score in Rajamouli movies and this one is not an exception. The Art work is good. The editing by Kotagiri is fine. Cinematography by Senthil is promising. The film has very limited characters. It bores you in the middle and if you are not connected to the point then it may even irritate you. The locations are also limited and repetitive. The logic has gone for toss many times (since the script is highly fictional & fantasy filled). The narration of the film in the non graphics part is slow and repetitive(point). If you go with the logical issues you will be highly disappointed. So make-up your mind and watch it in a relaxed mood to enjoy more. If you have an interest for animated/cartoonist movies then this movie is for you.
There are some scenes which came up well— Eega teasing and irritating Sudeep, the scene where Eega reveals that he is Nani, the car accident and interval episode, the Climax. The presence of a Star hero could have helped Rajamouli in pulling up the movie. The Brand name Rajamouli is the force which drags you to the theaters. Rajamouli has definitely taken the Tollywood Industry to the next level with quality effects. It’s up to the masses to decide the collections of this flick at the Box-office. “Eega” is a visual feast which will appeal to the children more.
Plus: CGI & VFX, Sudeep, Background score
Minus: Slow narration, Story, Screenplay
Verdict: Average flick with extra-ordinary visual effects which thrills you.

0
