Kajal Agarwal rubbishes singing rumours

There were few reports in media that Kajal Agarwal will be singing a song in her upcoming movie ‘Badshah’ starring Young Tiger NTR. It was told that she will be humming a song along with International pop singer Akon. The news had gone viral on internet as a Mumbai based heroine is singing a Telugu song.
However, this news does not seem to be true. Kajal Agarwal herself condemned this news in an exclusive interview to a Newspaper. The regular shooting of the movie will began from 9th of this month in Italy. Srinu Vaitla is the director. Bandla Ganesh is producing the movie under Parameswara Arts banner.

Nagarjuna goes to Chanchalguda jail

Akkineni Nagarjuna came to Chanchalguda Central Prison on Saturday to meet his business partner Nimmagadda Prasad who is the the 12th accused in the charge sheet of Jagan’s illegal assets case.Speaking to the media after the mulaqat, the actor said that Nimmagadda Prasad is his good friend and they used to meet daily till before he was put behind the bars. Nagarjuna added that Nimmagadda’s arrest is unfortunate.
Nimmagadda had reportedly invested nearly Rs. 800 crores in Jagan companies as part of the quid pro quo deal. In return, he received around 15 thousand acres for his Vanpic project from the YSR government. Cases were booked against Prasad under sections 120B, IPC 420, 409 and 477A of PC act.

Sagara Sangamam which released in 1973 is one of the classics of Telugu film industry. As he is all set to realize his dream, his ageing mother passes away which denies the fulfillment of his dream. Slowly, he gets closer to Madhavi and the day he wishes to propose to her, he realises that she is already married and her husband left her. Now the husband wants to re-unite with her which forces him to sacrifice his love. Years pass by and he turns into a drunkard. Meanwhile Madhavi loses her husband. She comes to know of Balakrishna who the doctors say is going to die soon. So she takes care of his medical needs and requests Balakrishna to teach dance to her daughter. The movie ends with Madhavi’s daughter becoming a great dancer and the death of Balakrishna giving a message “There is no end to art”.

This rare miniature breed horse can grow up to 31 inches and has a life span of around 15 years.

The shooting delay of Rebel had made the schedule of Prabhas’ Varadhi haywire. He began the movie midway of Rebel and stopped it midway to accommodate dates for Rebel completion. And now Rebel is nearing completion. The last song shoot of the movie will be wrapped by August 9th. And then Prabhas will shift to the shooting of Varadhi.

Telugu Tanu weds Manu getting ready

Comedian turned hero Sunil is currently busy wrapping up the shooting of Bollywood remake film “Tanu Weds Manu”. The unit has started a fresh schedule from July 26 in Hyderabad and is currently filming scenes on Sunil and others, and would wrap up the majority of shooting part with this schedule. Tanu Weds Manu is all about Manu, who is a doctor in the US, comes to India to find a bride for himself and falls for Tanu at first sight, but Tanu rejects him. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut have played the leads in the original.
And Sunil actor is once again paired up with Isha Chawla in this romantic comedy after Poolarangadu. Devi Prasad of ‘Blade Babji’ fame is directing this film. The makers are considering the titles ‘Sita Ramudu’ and ‘Radha Krishnudu’ for the movie. The movie is going to be produced by RB Choudary, Paras Jain and NV Prasad under Mega Super Good movies banner.

Then the makers had announced that famous porn star Sunny Leone is acting in their movie. However, it is not Sunny Leone who you see in the Jism 2 poster. It is actually of Nathalia Kaur, who shook legs for an item song in Ram Gopal Varma’s Department.
One look at the film, and you’ll get to know that the silhouette of the woman is not of Leone. Says Pooja Bhatt said to a National daily, “A year ago, when it was being speculated that the film will feature either Bipasha Basu or Mallika Sherawat, I decided to whet people’s appetite with a sexy poster. I called my friend, photographer Joy Datta, who deals with dusky Brazilian models, for options. I chose Nathalia from amongst the ones he showed me.”
The poster was shot at Pooja’s farmhouse during the monsoon, much before Leone was even signed up.

Tollywood Hits & Flops in First Half 2012

The First half of 2012 for Tollywood has been with great flying colors.There has been some good times in Tollywood with significant hit films this time.The biggest boost for Tollywood 2012 has been in the form of ‘Gabbar Singh’. This is a registered blockbuster and it is racing towards the second highest grosser with Rs 65 crores share.The film has been declared a unanimous hit from all centers.
Next in the list is ‘Businessman’ which also score a raging success.Arriving as a Sankranthi treat, the film rocked the box office thanks to Mahesh Babu mania and resulted with more than forty crores share. This result came irrespective of the talk on the film.
The same trend was followed by ‘Racha’ which was released in a massive way and being a commercial subject, the masses gave a thumbs up. Despite slamming by critics, the film struck a chord with the common man and it raked in a whopping Rs 45 crores share.
There were two other hits that made their mark in the form of ‘Poola Rangadu’ and ‘Ishq’. These two flicks proved that audience would come not just for star heroes but also for good subject and entertainment filled projects.
Another surprising observation that came to light is, films don’t need a noted face to score a hit. This was proved by two small budget flicks in the form of ‘Lovely’, ‘Ee Rojullo’ and ‘Oka Romantic Crime Katha’. These films were made targeting the youth and scored success. This will encourage many to experiment with this genre and more films will come.
Of course, not all was happy smiles for the Tollywood folks. There were some massive duds that came in proving that if the subject and content is not good then the result also will not be good. The best example for that is the Ravi Teja- Gunasekhar venture ‘Nippu’. This is the biggest disaster of 2012. Following the suit was Balakrishna who has registered massive duds to his account. He added one more to his kitty by coming up with ‘Adhinayakudu’. There are few other flops but these two are the biggest and sizeable ones.
Same has been the case with the dubbed flicks which come in large numbers. The likes of ‘Snehitudu’ ‘3’ ‘Love Failure’ ‘Dhoni’ were given thumbs down by the audience. In the dubbed market, except for the Hollywood flick ‘Avengers’ none of the others worked. The latest release ‘Sakuni’ opened with decent collections but the talk has not been that strong so it is going a bit dull.
Movies like ‘Bodyguard’ ‘Dammu’ ‘Daruvu’ ‘Endukante Premanta’ took off with a disaster talk but at the end, they managed to come up with some decent figures as collections.

With 2012 first half looking encouraging, Tollywood is now looking towards the second half with optimism. There are some really promising projects lined up for release. The list includes movies like ‘Eega’ ‘Julaayi’ ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ ‘Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ ‘Damarukam’ ‘Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu’ ‘Rebel’ ‘Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara’ ‘Shadow’ ‘Autonagar Surya’ ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ ‘Vaaradhi’ ‘Srimannarayana’ ‘Tuneega Tuneega’ and others. Let us wish that at least half of them shake the box office of Tollywood and create a sensation.

RGV underestimated Pawan’s Director !

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is not the one to mince words. Few months back, an interesting conversation took place between RGV and Pawan’s Gabbar Singh director Harish Shankar.
Both RGV and Harish share and great rapport. It was RGV who made him a director with the film ‘Shock’. After coming to know that Harish was roped in for Gabbar Singh, RGV scolded the director for taking a risky step of remaking Bollywood blockbuster Dabangg and that to when directing a star like Pawan Kalyan the expectations will reach new heights. Harish Shankar who is basking on the success of Gabbar Singh has revealed this secret in one of his recent interview. In fact, Ramu feared that Harish would land in trouble. But from Day 1, Harish was very confident about the film and delivered his best.
Harish arranged a special screening of Gabbar Singh for RGV after the release of the film. Ramu was in full of praise for the young director who made many changes in the script to suit the taste of the Tollywood audience and for showing Powerstar in the way people love to see him. With Gabbar Singh, Harish Shankar has become one of the most sought after directors in Tollywood. RGV-Harish’s episode is a best example to show that we shouldn’t underestimate anyone!

Naidu decides Lokesh and Jr NTR role in TDP !

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has taken up a massive exercise for a complete makeover of the party including completion of organizational elections and reactivating the youth and other allied wings.
Though pressure to bring Lokesh into active politics is increasing, Naidu is still unable to decide whether or not to bring his son Lokesh Naidu into active politics. For the present, he wants to give top priority to give a new image to the party by going in for complete makeover by holding organisational elections and revamp the allied wings like the mahila wing, youth wing etc.
In view of this, the party has not yet taken any decision on the date to hold the Mahanadu which had to be postponed due to the by-elections.Meanwhile, with the demand for infusing young blood and to bring in Lokesh and Balakrishna and if possible Junior NTR into active politics, Naidu is learnt to have decided to hold a meeting with his family members on Sunday.
This meeting is likely to discuss the issue of whether or not Lokesh should be asked to enter active politics. The party youth wing, in fact, wants Lokesh to take over it and go round the State to understand the problems of the people. The question before Naidu is how to accommodate Junior NTR in the party, in case Lokesh enters politics.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has concluded her week-long consultations with leaders of Andhra Pradesh on the twin issues of Telangana and strengthening of the party.
She has during the week met every one who sought her appointment, quite contrary to her style of functioning of keeping people waiting. She has met over 25 leaders including ministers, MPs, MLAs and other leaders during the past week and heard them patiently. She has even jotted down notes herself on the points mentioned by the AP leaders.
The rapt attention with which she heard the views of AP leaders at a time when she was extremely busy with the Presidential polls has shown the importance she was giving to strengthening of the party which is apparently in shambles in Andhra Pradesh.
Consultations started with MPs V Hanumanta Rao and K V P Ramachandra Rao setting the tone during their meeting with the party supremo. Later the Governor ESL Narasimhan also gave a secret report to Sonia Gandhi on his own assessment of the party’s position and the Telangana issue.
Later Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi, Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana, state ministers D L Ravindra Reddy, Raghuveera Reddy, Geeta Reddy, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, C Ramachandraiah, MPs K M Khan, Kotla Surya Prakasha Reddy, Sarve Satyanarayana, Renuka Choudary, Kanumuri Bapiraju, Sarve Satyanarayana, Magunta Srinivasa Reddy, Palvai Govardhan Reddy, Rayapati Sabasva Rao, MLA Sasidhar Reddy, Deputy Speaker Bhatti Vikramarka and several others have met Sonia Gandhi. Some of them have also met Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad and Union Minister Vayilar Ravi also.
Sonia Gandhi has asked all these leaders their views only on two issues. The first is ways to strengthen the party and the second is Telangana.
It is learnt that while there were divergent views on the leadership of Kiran Kumar Reddy, leaders from all the three regions have said that there was need to settle the Telangana issue one way or the other.
As Sonia Gandhi has concluded consultations on AP and started concentrating on other issues, leaders have returned to Hyderabad, leaving her time and peace to think and decide.
Apart from Congress leaders, even the advocates of Telangana like TRS are waiting for Sonia Gandhi to announce her decision, with nerve-shattering suspense.

Jagan’s No Support to Royal Telangana !

The YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has opposed the reported proposal of the central government to create Rayala Telangana, with two districts – Anantapur and Kurnool of Rayalaseema and the present Telangana region, minus Khammam district. It is also proposed to make Hyderabad as a Union Territory.
Though Jagan has no way of communicating his view to the media, it is learnt that he told his party men and family members including his mother and party honorary president Vijayamma to strongly oppose the latest proposal.
Jagan’s view have reflected in the statement of YSR Congress leaders MLAs Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Chenna Kesava Reddy and former MLC Mohan Reddy who spoke to the media on Friday evening. They said neither the people of Telangana, nor  Rayalaseema were favorable to the proposal. They said if the state was to be divided it should be in difference to the wishes of the people and not to favour some political parties, which have no future.
With Jagan, now a strong force in Rayalaseema taking deciding to oppose the Rayala Telangana proposal, there might be great trouble for the Congress party if the Centre tries to go any farther in the matter.

Chandrababu in Dilemma for Pecedent Elcetion !

Telugu Desam party leadership is still in a dilemma over whom to support in the Presidential polls. Chandrababu recently gave a hint that his party might extend support to UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee, as taking PA Sangma’s side will send a wrong impression that TDP will form an alliance with BJP in future.
However, Babu’s decision is gaining severe cirticism from the party leaders itself. Some of the senior leaders questioned that how will TDP which is known for it’s anti-Congress stand could support the candidate of the rival party. TDP leaders have been criticizing that Jagan colluded with Kiran Kumar Reddy’s government and also predicting YSR Congress will be merge with Congress from the past few months. Now, if the same leaders vote for Pranab Mukherjee there is chance of losing credibility.
lthough some of the party leaders proposed the option of staying away from Presidential voting, Chandrababu hasn’t shown interest in that idea and he even announced that TDP willn’t boycott the polls. The Presidential polls have grown into a big headache for Babu, as which ever candidate TDP support they can’t escape from the brickbats.

Lagadapti predicted that the troubles of Congress party will come to an end if they give Minister Post to Megastar Chiranjeevi. Is anyone finding any connection between the post and politics in state? ‘Had we given Chiru a minister post earlier, we have won more seats in the recent by-polls’, says Lagadapati. With many MPs and Ministers seeing the proximity of Chiru getting some ‘bigger’ role in Congress, they have started flattering him by giving him a ‘demi god’ status.
Earlier MLA Jogi Ramesh and Minister Raghuveera Reddy have done the same thing by praising Chiru to a max. Looks like, our hero is getting a post in Manmohan Cabinet soon and hence this ‘bhajana’ by everyone to woo him. But too much of anything will taste bitter, and our Vijayawada MP should put a full stop to it!
