Pawan fans force Nikesha to quit Twitter

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan turned 49 on September 2 and his fans trended #HappyBirthdayPawanKalyan and several other tags on Twitter for over 24 hours.

Tamil-Telugu actress Nikesha Patel, who shared screen space with him in Puli, took to Twitter to wish him.

Anticipating the birthday wishes for Pawan, a few Twitter trolls had already created and began trending another hashtag, #HappyBirthdayPawalaKalyan. “Pawala” in Telugu means “cheap”.

But what unfolded thereon was a comedy of errors.

While wishing her favourite actor Pawan Kalyan, Nikesha mistakenly used the trending troll hashtag #HappyBirthdayPawalaKalyan.

No sooner had she tweeted and the actress came under severe criticism for the fake hashtag. Soon, she was facing the wrath of fans angry at her “irresponsible” tweet. Nikesha, who was quick to realise her mistake, deleted the controversial tweet and even posted a fresh tweet wishing Pawan. But it was too late.

Not the one to back down, Nikesha posted another series of tweets admonishing the fans for their highhandedness.

“Wish media and #pspk fans would calm down with the http://trolling.It was trending and without noticing a spelling mistake I pressed. have no intentions on [sic] hurting #pawankalyan I repeat #PAWANKALYAN !!! He has all my love and respect. And its idiots out there who create such trending hashtags and I get into trouble for it. I give up on social media. I’m of [sic] social media for some time. Keep the negativity going and keep the trolling going while I’m not listening. (sic),” she tweeted.

Poonam Kaur, fellow Telugu actress took to Twitter to support her. She wrote, “U @Nikeshapatel don’t have prove your loyalty to people … just keep quiet … other wise they will only have fun … remember your interview was altered by a wicked journalist which affected your career …have fun … be at peace … (sic)”
