Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan has released an official statement to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, condemning the way the Bhimili police are behaving with respect to the sexual harrassment on a Jana Sena voluteer, and the murder attempts on a Jana Sena and BJP members.
YSRCP member Ulla Chinna had attempted to murder a Jana Sena member, Mugi Prasad, and a BJP member, Mugi Srinivas in Bhimili. Thankfully, the both of them are alive and well, but have sustained some very serious injuries in the process.
This happened after they tried to stop Chinna from Sexually harassing a woman volunteer belonging to Jana Sena. Despite sexually harrassing a woman, and attemtping to murder two individuals, the Bhimili Police have not registered a proper case against the accused, and instead arrested those who supported the Jana Sena and BJP memebrs.
Pawan Kalyan said that it was the duty of the Police to make sure that the citizens are safe, and that the law is being followed in the state. However, the way the Bheemili Police are behaving – supporting the party in power – is not democratic, Pawan said.
Pawan also requested that Nirbhaya case be implemented with respect to the sexual harassment that Chinna was responsbile for. He further questioned the government about its determination to protect the women of its state, and questioned why the government was not implementing the Disha Act that it introduced to safeguard the women of AP.
Furthermore, Pawan stated that if the Police were not inclined towards justice, then they would fight this matter out in the judiciary, where they would get the justice they were entitled to. He also stated that this is not the first instance where YSRCP members have tried to murder mebers of other parties, and that a similar incident happened in Vijayawada just a few weeks ago.
Pawan also requested the State DGP to immediately respond to the issue and to book the appropriate cases on the accused.
