He is a talented director who made super hits with the then leading stars of Telugu film industry. His name is Jayanth C Paranji and his super hits include Preminchukudaam Ra, Baavagaru Bagunnaara, Lakshmi Narasimha and Shankardada MBBS. His last Telugu film was “Teenmaar” that starred Pawan Kalyan, and it was a mega flop. After this failure, Jayanth says, “I’m bored of scripting those star-scripts that don’t actually have any storytelling“.
What’s Jayant up to now? After 4 years of break, finally he has found a path which he would love to travel. Rather making those regular star-hero centric films, he’s now banking on subject oriented scripts that don’t fall in commercial-masala category, art films neither. “I’m coming up with the story of a drunkard cop who cracks his whip on child pornography and human trafficking.
It will be as real and rugged”, he says. We hear that Jayanth is filming this movie without any songs, romance or lights-reflectors for the shooting. Only a shoe-string budget will be put into the film, but the content will do the talking.
Tollywood is looking for such welcome change from a long time, as most of our films became 6 songs and 3 fights routine. Hope Jayanth gets his equations right.
