Since from the beginning of the pandemic in India, the central government has been taking several safety measures and promoting the Covid-19 awareness through various medium.It is known that Amitabh Bachchan’s voice is heard as a caller tune for a long time. Now, a PIL has been filed in Delhi High Court seeking removal of Bachchan’s COVID-19 awareness caller tune.
The petition was filed by Delhi resident and social worker Rakesh saying that the star actor and his family couldn’t escape the pandemic, but making people aware of preventive measures to fight the pandemic. On Thursday, the plea was heard before a bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh.
The plea said the government of India has been paying fees to Mr Bachchan for spreading preventive measures on the caller ringtone while some famous corona warriors were willing to give their services for free.The petitioner said he approached the authorities in November 2020 in this regard but no reply was given to him after which he moved the court with the grievance. The bench has now listed the matter for January 18.
