PM Modi, Jagan And KCR To Receive Covid-19 Vaccine Shots

The largest vaccination drive in India was launched on January 16 with healthcare workers and others at the frontline receiving shots of two vaccines – Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and Serum Institute of India’s Covishield.

So far, as per data of Union Health Ministry, a total of 7,86,842 people in India have been vaccinated for the deadly virus as on 20 January 2021. The government is currently giving vaccines to about 3 crore healthcare and frontline workers in the country.

As per the update, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AP CM YS Jagan, Telangana CM KCR and all Chief Ministers, MPs and MLAs in the country will be vaccinated in the second phase of the Covid vaccination drive. In the second phase, it is the turn of those above 50 and people with comorbidities to take shots.

Ahead of the vaccination campaign, PM Narendra Modi, at a meeting with Chief Ministers had said that politicians should not rush to take the Covid-19 vaccine shot rather they should wait for their turn.
