None other than a most visited porn website, xvideos.com has reacted to this action taken by the Indian government. On the official twitter handle of the website, they have posted, ‘Porn ban in India / XVideos blocked. Vote better next time!’.
That’s a direct slap on the Modi government and giving a free advise to people to not elect BJP next time. Government has however defended their move as something to combat child pornography and IT Minister confirmed some changes being made to the banned list with immediate effect. Anyway by the time this article is written, xvideos is still blocked.
On 30th July, Govt Of India directed all the Internet Service Provides to ban 857 websites listed by an advocate that have adult and pornography content. The other day they have however ordered to ban those sites that are promoting child pornography, for which ISPs replied that selective-ban is impossible. We have to see how India deals with pornography now.
