The team of Rajinikanth and Shankar’s graphical extravaganza “2.0” has begun its promotional drive on national media and social media. They have just released another making video. This is fourth such making video from the team.The teaser of “2.0” was released on Vinayaka Chaviti festival. A trailer will be released next month at a big promotional event. While all this sounds fine, who will produce or release the movie in Telugu?
There is no clarity regarding the Telugu version’s producer. Lyca Productions that produced the trilingual initially sold it to Asian Films’ Sunil Narang for a whopping Rs 90 Cr for Telugu theatrical rights.This deal was done last year, but now Sunil’s Asian Films has backed off from it due to delay in movie’s release. Asian Films has already taken half their advance amount from Lyca. Remaining amount is yet to be settled.
It is not clear whether Lyca will release through Asian Films without selling outright rights or will it sell it to another prospective producer?No producer’s name has been announced for the Telugu version yet though Hindi version has got Karan Johar. Malayalam too has got a local producer.
