Couple of days ago, there were reports of yesteryear diva Sridevi filing a complaint on the producers of her comeback film Puli. Sridevi alleged that the producers Shibu Thameens and PT Selvakumar failed to pay balance Rs 50 lakhs of her remuneration.
To this, the producers gave a stunning retort saying that it is in fact Sridevi who owes them money and not the other way around. Stating that Sridevi’s opulence and her husband Boney Kapoor’s arrogance cost them excess money, the producers revealed that they had agreed to pay Sridevi Rs 2.7 crore as remuneration, along with Rs 30 lakh as service tax.
The producers further stated that Boney Kapoor demanded extra remuneration since Puli was being dubbed into Hindi and Telugu, where Sridevi has immense craze. Boney also insisted that Sridevi would attend the shoot if only she was paid extra, said the producers.
Revealing further, the producers then agreed upon giving Sridevi satellite rights of 20% for the Hindi version of the film and Rs 15 lakhs for the Telugu version and that Boney already took Rs 55 lakhs when the Hindi satellite rights were sold.
“We did not get a single penny for releasing the film in Hindi,” lamented the producers, who shelled out 1 crore to release the film in Hindi. Alleging that Sridevi has to pay them 20 lakhs in turn, the producers requested her to end this mess at once and move on.
