PVP to contest from Vijayawada Parliament

India’s one of the big shots, business honcho-film producer, financier-engineering college owner-philanthropist Prasad V Potluri is all set to take political plunge. While his political entry rumours are rife for a while, now it’s all finalized. According to our strong sources, PVP is going to join YSR Congress Party formally on January 23. What’s more? PVP is going to contest to Loksabha polls from Vijayawada constituency. Our sources say that a deal between Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy and PVP is fixed and the former is keen to allot Vijayawada MP seat to the latter. We hear that PVP is going to shell out huge amounts of sum as Party fund and going to splurge money in upcoming general elections.

PVP hails from Kamma community which is strong and play significant role in Krishna district. Analysts believe that it will be a big asset for him in coming polls. Apparently, Jagan wanted to give stiff competition to TDP who holds foothold among the community in district.

Industrialist, Chairman and Managing Director of PVP Ventures, PVP is business baron has good reputation in Vijayawada and Krishna district. He owns engineering college PVP Siddhartha located in Vijayawada. PVP’s core business is urban infrastructure (PVP Ventures) and power generation. He later forayed into film financing and subsequently into film production under the name of PVP Cinemas. It has financed about 50 films including Kamal Haasan’s much talked-about Vishwaroopam and produced a handful of big-budget films- Balupu, Varna. He is also a philanthropist. Interestingly, PVP is going to produce a film with Pawan Kalyan.

Well, with none other than PVP joining YSR Congress it’s definitely a jolt to TDP who is abstaining from power for the past nine-long-years.
