Rajinikanth’s film – A comeback vehicle for Macho actor?

Macho man Gopichand has been reportedly roped in to play the prime antagonist opposite Super Star Rajinikanth in Annaatthe. Interestingly, director Siruthai Siva has helmed Gopichand in two Telugu films; Souryam and Sankham.

Earlier, it was widely speculated that Prakash Raj will be locking horns with Rajnikanth in the big-budget film. A source close to the unit said, “Prakash Raj is very much part of the project. However, he is not playing the antagonist.”

If this news turns out to be true, Annaatthe will be the comeback vehicle of Gopichand in Kollywood. In 2002, he played the baddie in the Tamil remake of Jayam starring Jayam Ravi as the protagonist.

Starring Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh as the leading ladies, Annaatthe features an ensemble star cast which includes Meena, Kushboo, Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish and Vela Ramamoorthy. On the other hand, Gopichand is currently shooting for Sampath Nandi’s upcoming sports-drama Seetimaarr.
