A great tragedy took place at Hotel Swarna Palace in Vijayawada recently, when a short circuit paved the way for a huge fire accident in the hotel. This resulted in several people dead, and several other injured. The worst part is that all of these victims are Coronavirus patients, and have been receiving treatment at Swarna Palace.
Swarna Palace was hired by Ramesh Hospitals for treating Coronavirus patients, and this unfortunate incident got the police to target the CEO of Ramesh Hospitals, Pothineni Ramesh. Ever since the incident took place, Ramesh has been absconding, and has been sending voice notes to the public, saying that he’s innocent has nothing to do with the incident.
Ramesh also filed for an anticipatory bail in the High Court, and the case was up for hearing in the court today. The High Court has ordered the Police Department to stop all the questioning aimed at Ramesh for now, and also questioned as to why the Police Department was not including district collector, joint collector and the DHMO.
In the petition that he filed, Ramesh made it clear that they took all the necessary precautions and stuck to the guidelines in the MoU. It was only after the district collector, joint collector and the DHMO gave permission that Ramesh Hospitals started functioning in Swarna Palace.
Additionally, the police heads already include three senior executives, including Dr Kodali Rajagopal Rao, chief operating officer of Ramesh Hospital, Dr Kurapathi Sudershan, general manager, and Pallabothu Venkatesh of Ramesh Hospital in the ongoing investigation with respect to the incident at Swarna Palace.
