Former Congress MP Undavalli Arun Kumar filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Hyderabad High Court questioning the Central Government on what grounds it honoured Media Baron Ramoji Rao with Padma Vibhushan award.
If High Court accepts the PIL of Undavalli, Union Home Secretary, Chief Secretaries of Telugu States and Ramoji Rao will soon receive Notices seeking their explanation on the charge. Few weeks back, Undavalli convened a press conference at Somajiguda press club to announce his action plan.
He raised the point, ‘How can Centre felicitate Ramoji Rao with Padma Vibhushan award when he was yet to receive clean chit in Margadarsi chit fund & other cases filed against him?’. Undavalli waged a war against Ramoji Rao during former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s tenure.
He moved court against the Eenadu Group Chairman for allegedly cheating people in the disguise of Margadarsi Chit Fund. With Mr.Rao receiving Padma honour, Undavalli is yet again appearing in media quite often.
