Come to February, the BO success continued with Nani’s ‘Nenu Local’ opening with decent talk and the highest collections in the actor’s career. The film has reached break even status in its first week itself and distributors have already started counting profits.A week gone and tollywood has seen two more big films. Released on Feb 9, Suriya’s ‘S3’ opened with commendable response and is expected to rock the single screens big time.
Nagarjuna Akkineni’s latest devotional drama ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya’, a Feb 10 release, also received encouraging reviews. It can’t be compared with classic ‘Annamayya’ but it surely has the potential to become of the well made devotional dramas. The opening was not great but the positive reviews are expected to do the trick.If nothing unusual happens, both S3 and Om Namo Venkatesaya will bring cheers to buyers. Tollywood box office has flourished like never before in the initial 40 days of this year. A slew of small and medium budget films are slated for release in this month, especially around Maha Sivarathri.
Industry people hope that the momentum at box office continues.
