If one thought that the internal bickering has died down in the Telangana Congress Party after Rahul Gandhi personally intervened, then you are mistaken. The leopard doesn’t change its spots. The Congress cadre never stops bickering. Despite Rahul Gandhi’s intervention and mediation, the bickering seems to be continuing in the Telangana Congress.
Senior Congress Dalit leader and the party’s candidate from Thungaturthi Addanki Dayakar has lodged a complaint against three prominent Congress leaders with the Congress High Command. In his complaint, he said that the three leaders – Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, former PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and former minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy are trying to bring back into the party Dr Ravi, who has since been suspended from the party.
Dr Ravi contested as a rebel candidate against Addanki Dayakar from the reserved Thungathurthy constituency. Despite several efforts he did not withdraw from the contest. The party has suspended him for six years for anti-party activities. It was because of the vote-splitting by Dr Ravi that Addanki Dayakar lost narrowly to the TRS. Now, efforts are on to bring him back into the party, Dayakar alleged.
Interestingly, all the three leaders, against whom Dayakar has complained, are known opponents of present TPCC chief Revanth Reddy. In the recent meeting with Rahul Gandhi, they all made several complaints against Revanth Reddy’s leadership and working style. All the three are from Nalgonda district. The attack by Dayakar is being seen as an attempt to even up the scores in the battle of one upmanship.
