As the 22-year-old Roshmitha Harimurthy is all set to represent India at the Miss Universe pageant this year, lets have a look at what has she has achieved so far and find out if she has the nerves of steel to compete with the world’s best.
Roshmitha is a beautiful young woman from Bengaluru. She has been a professional model since 2013 and has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry.
Her best achievement so far is the Miss Diva 2016 Crown. She won the titles of Kodak Lens Miss Spectacular Eyes, Miss Rampwalk and Miss Refreshing Diva at the Miss Diva pageant. She credits daily workouts, swimming and healthy eating for her enviable beauty.
At 5’9″, Roshmitha is not just a pretty face but an all rounder who has also worked as a teacher at a Government Primary School in Bengaluru to create awareness about health hazards. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree.
Now, Roshmitha is carrying the dream of crores of Indians who have been waiting for 17 long years to see an Indian clinch the Miss Universe crown. Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000 are the only Miss Universe title winners from India. Roshmitha has a chance at this year’s edition to be held on January 30, 2017 at Manila, Philippines.
Besides Harimurthy’s participation at this year’s Miss Universe pageant, Indians have another reason to rejoice as 1994 winner Sushmita Sen has been included in the judges panel.
Meanwhile, Lara Dutta, the 2000 Miss Universe winner, sought the support of Indians to help Roshmitha win the crown this year. “This is a girl I believe in, now it’s time 4 u to make her win. Tweet #MissUniverse #India to vote! India, it’s time to stand united and vote,” she tweeted.
