It will be well over a year before Rajamouli’s magnum opus project RRR hits the silver screens. But that is not stopping the film from recording sensational pre-release business.
As per latest reports, the satellite and digital rights of the Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer have been sold for a very fancy price.
Disney plus Hotstar and star networks have shelled out around Rs 200 crores for the digital and satellite rights of RRR. The digital streaming giant now owns the digital streaming and telecasting rights of the film in all languages.
This is certainly one of the biggest if not the biggest pre-release business for any Indian film. The fact that Disney Hotstar and star networks paid such a huge amount despite the financial recession pertaining to Covid-19 outbreak speaks about the scale of the project.
RRR shooting was kick-started in Hyderabad recently. Rajamouli is planning to complete the remaining portion of the film at the earliest. Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, Olivia Morris, and other lead cast will join the sets soon.
