Rumour: Mohan Babu met PM on capital issue?

Social media has become a platform for circulating news quickly without even verifying whether it is correct or not. Most of the times, they are just rumours deliberately made viral to trouble some people.

Such fake news leads to apprehensions among the people and even disturbances in the society, as people tend to believe what is circulated in the social media.

Take the case of meeting of senior actor and producer Manchu Mohan Babu with Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his family members in New Delhi on Monday.

It was a fact that the family had met Modi and Shah, as photos have surfaced and everybody including Modi had tweeted about the meeting.

It was nothing but natural that the meeting has triggered speculations in the political circles.

The media has speculated that Mohan Babu and his son might be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party sooner or later, as the senior actor did not categorically deny when a reporter asked him whether Modi had invited him into the BJP.

At the same time, he also had a word of praise for YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule in AP. This made one wonder whether he had no plans to join the BJP right now.

But on Tuesday, a rumour has started doing rounds in the social media. According to his rumour, Mohan Babu had gone to meet the Prime Minister on a mission assigned to him by megastar Chiranjeevi on behalf of Telugu film industry and also the YSR Congress party.

Mohan Babu had reportedly conveyed to the Prime Minister that the Telugu film industry had absolutely no objection to declaring Visakhapatnam as the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Apparently, Chiranjeevi took up the responsibility of consolidating the opinion of the film industry following a request from the chief minister.

For lobbying on behalf of the film industry, Jagan would offer Rajya Sabha ticket to Mohan Babu and Chiranjeevi might be offered a suitable land for studio in Visakhapatnam.

Quoting this rumour, the message doing rounds in the social media is that the people agitating for retaining Amaravati as the capital city should run down Mohan Babu and raise anti-Mohan Babu slogans in all the rallies!
