Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju To Be Sacked From BJP?

If Bharatiya Janata Party central leadership decides to go by the recommendation of its Andhra Pradesh unit, BJP national yuva morcha executive committee member Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju, niece of former Union minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, is all set to be sacked from the party.

BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Saturday wrote a letter to party president J P Nadda, recommending sacking of Sanchaita from the party for her anti-party activities.

“The way she got favours from the YSR Congress party government in the state in the last few days has caused immense damage and embarrassment to the party in the state,” Kanna said.

The YSRC government in the state appointed Sanchaita as the chairperson of Simhachalam Temple trust board and also the head of MANSAS Trust, an endowment trust founded by her grandfather P V G Raju in 1958, removing existing chairman Ashok Gajapathi Raju.

The appointment caused political uproar in the state, as Ashok alleged that the Jagan government was interfering in his family trust affairs, while the local BJP leaders accused Sanchaita of being a Christian and that she cannot head the temple trust.

Sanchaita, however, denied the allegations.

“It is unfortunate that my own family members are attributing motives to me. Just because I go to a Church, how can they call me Christian?” she asked.

Kanna said her appointment has led to the talk that the BJP has a secret understanding with the YSRC.

“This has caused confusion and embarrassment to the party. She had not intimated to the party about her appointments in the temple or family trusts,” he said.

According to sources, Sanchaita was expecting this reaction from the party. The moment she is suspended from the party, she is all set to join the YSRC, sources said.
