Amidst of lot of controversies about his jail term, Sanjay Dutt walked out free from Pune Yerawada jail, as he officially completing his pending jail term after he got convicted for 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts.
In a dramatic episode of leaving the jail for good, Sanjay Dutt touched the ground and turned towards the Yerawada jail entrance, saluted the guards over there before he left the place with a set of documents and a bag with him. He wore a blue shirt and denims while he walked out.
Sanjay Dutt has been sent to Yerawada jail to complete his jail term of 42 months in May 2013, as he already spent 18 months in jail during 2007 – 08. His actual jail term would end in November this year but citing the reasons of his good behaviour and hosting the jail radio station, his term was cut short to release him now.
According to the police authorities of yerawada, he was granted a remission of 7 days per month. Not just that, his parole time too garnered lot of controversies for he was given around 118 days off from jail for first one year of term and director Rajkumar Hirani’s illegal visit too added upto it.
Sanjay Dutt earned around 38000 rupees with his semi skilled work in making bags in jail and spent most of it for daily purchases. Jail authorities claim he was treated like any other inmate and kept in solitary confinement for security reasons.
