Of the 135 MLAs of AIADMK, 132 MLAs are sailing with Chinnamma VK Sasikala, whereas only three MLAs are backing Panneerselvam. O Panneerselvam, who kiked up a storm on Tuesday night, continued his allegations against Sasikala on Wednesday as well. Speaking to national media, O Panneerselvam claimed that he is still the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and could take his resignation back.
Responding to the point that he doesn’t have sufficient numbers from the legislative members, Pannerselvam quipped that he has “numbers in people’s court”.
Meanwhile, AIADMK general secretary Sasikala had given befitting counter to OPS on Wednesday. She first flashed victory sign as she came out to address media at Poes garden in Chennai. Sasikala said she’s ready to probe over Jaya’s death and lashed back at Panneer for allegedly joining with Opposition DMK in the coup.
“All are united and no one can break the party or shake our foundations,” Sasikala told 132 AIADMK MLAs at Poes Garden meeting. Quashing all charges levelled by him, Sasi said, “Amma (Jayalalithaa) gave him many opportunities, I also gave him many opportunities, but he joined hands with the DMK. He was an opportunist.”
“Amma was my God for 33 years during which there were many ups and downs, many calamities… She overcame all of those, and I overcame all of those alongside her and we will overcome this one too… I swear this in the name of Amma,” said emotional Sasikala.
