In an unfortunate turn of events, senior priest P Seshadri, who is currently extending his services as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the holy shrine of Tirumala temple, passed away on Monday. The sad incident took place during the early hours of Monday. Seshadri is popularly known as Dollar Seshadri.
The sudden heart attack was the reason for his demise. Dollar Seshadri was in the shore city Visakhapatnam to participate in the Kartheeka Deepotsavam event. He suffered a heart attack and breathed his last within no time. Seshadri was 75 when he passed away.
Media reports say that, after he suffered a heart attack in the early hours of Monday, he was rushed to the nearby hospital. But sadly he breathed his last en route to the medical hospital. One after the other members from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) are extending their condolences for the demise.
Being an Agama pandit, Dollar Seshadri took part in various activities of the Tirumala temple and has been associated with the temple for the last five decades. His association with the temple traces back to 1978. Since then, he has been serving the Lord Venkateswara. After his retirement, he was made the OSD, and he is serving the temple as a special officer.
Except for a brief period, Dollar Seshadri has been serving his favorite god and breathed his last in his service. His sudden demise came as a big blow to the TTD as they lost a senior member who has vast experience in his craft. TTD members said they are unable to believe the sad news.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had condoled the death of the senior priest and extended his condolences to his family members. Tirupati MP Gurumoorthy, TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy also condoled his death.
On the other hand, the arrangements are underway to shift his mortal belongings to Tirupati. His family said the final rites of Dollar Seshadri will be held in the temple city. Dignitaries of various fields are expected to attend the last rites of the face of the Tirumala temple Dollar Seshadri. Details on the last rites are awaited.
