In a shocking scoop, 8 members of Iran’s national women’s football team are found to be men awaiting their sex change operations. This startling revelation left the country’s football association in deep accusations for being unethical by knowingly playing 8 men in its women’s team.

Iran’s national football team is ranked 59th in the FIFA rankings and 13th among the Asian teams. Religious restrictions disallow women from entering stadiums to watch matches between male teams. Following the religious restrictions, the Iranian women’s team usually play in hijab (face veil), headscarfs, long-sleeved tops and tracksuit bottoms.

Doubts first arised in 2010 on the national team’s goalkeeper’s gender. Iran’s national football authorities ordered for a gender test of the entire national squad and league players to check for the status of the sex change operations and to find out the players suffering from sexual development disorders.
