‘Indian 2’ is all set to hit the screens on 12th July. The team is trying hard to generate buzz on the movie in the Telugu states. The promotional content got mixed reactions but the makers recently organized a pre-release event and talked about the movie in the press meet as well.
This media interaction session was attended by director Shankar, Kamal Haasan, Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh. A journalist posed a question regarding the rule given by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy that heroes should do public service announcements before the screening if they want ticket hikes. The reporter then continued by questioning if the movie stars have social responsibility.
To this Siddharth said, “Every actor is socially responsible and we do things based on our conscience. Whichever CM requests us to do something, we will do it. No CM has ever told us that only if you do this we will do something else.” He added that he was the one who did condom ads back in 2005 and the hoardings used to be everywhere. Siddharth’s aggressive approach to this question surprised everyone but most of the public supported his statements.
Lyca Productions banner is bankrolling this project. Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani and others play key roles in this film. ‘Indian’ which was released back in 1996 was a sensational hit that made Shankar one of the top directors in South India. Anirudh is the music composer.
