Smriti Irani participated in the Miss India beauty pageant in 1998 but did not make it to the top 9. She appeared in the song “Boliyan” from the album Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag alongside Mika Singh in the same year. In 2000, she began her acting career with the TV shows Aatish and Hum Hain Kal Aaj Aur Kal, which aired on Star Plus, along with a role in Kavita on DD Metro.
Her major breakthrough came when she was cast as Tulsi Virani in Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. This role earned her multiple awards, including five consecutive ITA Awards for Best Actress. In 2003, Irani joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the next year, she became vice-president of the Maharashtra Youth Wing. She contested the 2004 general elections but lost to Kapil Sibal in Chandni Chowk. Despite facing political challenges, she continued to grow within the party, taking on significant roles. Recently, Irani has been active on television and social media, interacting with fans and maintaining her influence in the entertainment industry.
She has also appeared as a judge on the Telugu TV show Jai Bolo Telangana, showing her ongoing connection to the cultural scene. Interesting is that actress is rumored to make her small screen debut with the popular show Anupama, and official confirmation is expected soon.
