Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wing Chief Somu Veerraju is on a spree of making sensational comments. While his comments on providing cheap liquor are still creating a sensation across the two Telugu states, Somu Veerraju made sensational comments one more time.
Somu Veerraju asked what’s the point in having names of traitors and people who were responsible for the bifurcation of the country for famous junctions and roads when the country is gearing up for the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. In a tweet, he had urged the Andhra Pradesh government to look into the issue and change the names of such roads and junctions.
He asked the Andhra Pradesh government to change the name of the Jinnah Tower Centre in Guntur and name it after any freedom fighter. Naming such a famous center after such people will not give a good message to future generations and appeal to the government
The AP BJP chief made the sensational appeal to the government after BJP National Secretary and Andaman & Nicobar Incharge Y. Satya Kumar made a tweet saying that Jinnah center should be renamed as the Pakistan government is calling the monument a symbol of peace.
“This tower is named after Jinnah & area as Jinnah Centre. Irony, it’s not in Pakistan but in Guntur City of AP. A centre that still carries the name of traitor of India. Why shouldn’t it be named after Dr Kalam or son of the soil,a great Dalit poet,Gurram Jashuva? Just an idea!,” his tweet reads.
Putting his thoughts on this, Somu Veerraju said that in the current situation of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, it’s unfortunate that we still have the names of people who were responsible for the country division for famous monuments. I request the government to change such names.
