Contrary to a few media speculations that Sridevi’s husband and filmmaker Boney Kapoor was “interrogated” for 3 hours in connection to her death, Dubai polices have clarified that they have not interrogated Boney Kapoor at all. The Dubai police have said that they just recorded Boney Kapoor’s statement on Sunday morning (Dubai timings) after Sridevi found dead on Saturday night at 11.00 PM (GMT + 4) i.e 3 AM (IST) on Feb 25, 2018 in India.
While Sridevi’s family members have opined that Sridevi died of cardiac arrest, the Forensic and medical reports of Dubai officials stated that the death of Indian actress Sridevi occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment’s bathtub following loss of consciousness. Boney reportedly discovered Sridevi unconscious in the bathtub filled with water in room 2201 of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai.
Meanwhile, India’s Envoy in the UAE has also asked media, people not to speculate as the probe is delayed. India’s envoy said that the Indian commission was in touch with the local authorities to complete the formalities. It’s been more than 48 hours since Sridevi’s death, but her mortal remains are yet to reach India for her final rites.
