After the massive success of Baahubali, Telugu movies (Malyalam dubbed versions) are selling like hot cakes in the Kerala trade. Mr Perfect, Rebel and Mirchi theatrical rights were sold for 24 lakhs as a combo deal to Sayujyam Cine Release. All these movies are likely to hit Kerala screens this year with minimal gap.
Freshly, Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan starrer Srimanthudu is also turning out to be a blockbuster in Kerala. The message oriented flick has grossed 52 lakhs in Kerala with a share of 20.30 lakhs just for 5 days run. Sopanam films that bought Srimanthudu Kerala rights for 12 lakhs are already into profit zone now.
Thus, Mahesh also landed safely in Kerala like few other stars from Tollywood. Allu Arjun is biggest Telugu star in Kerala, wherein Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan, Prabhas and few other heroes have decent market value there.
Meanwhile, Srimanthudu provided decent profits to Tamil distributors in urban areas. The Koratala Siva directorial minted over Rs 1 crore alone in Chennai city. Good to see Telugu stars enlarging their market to other states!
