There are only a few actors like Aamir Khan, Chiyaan Vikram, Suriya, Kamal Haasan, Rajkumar Rao etc. who push themselves to the extremes in order to get into the skin of the characters they play. There is a new addition to this list, and the name is, Ranveer Singh, one of the most happening young heroes of Bollywood.
The dramatic transformation Ranveer has undergone from Padmaavat to his next film, Gully Boy is winning the hearts of movie buffs. On Friday, Ranveer shared two pictures of himself on social media. While the left one, showing him beefed up, was achieved to play the barbaric conqueror Allauddin Khilji in ‘Padmaavat’, the picture on the right side, a skinny and very lean look, is for his new film, ‘Gully Boy’.
Ranveer had to undergo a physical transformation for both Padmaavat (required muscular body) and Gully Boy (shed most of the weight and look a street-bred young man), and his hard effort to achieve desired looks for the two vastly different characters is visible in the pictures. How eccentric Ranveer may look off screen, but he puts in blood and sweat for his films.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, “Gully Boy” has Ranveer playing a street rapper. Alia Bhatt plays the female lead.
