Now it is well-known that TRS boss K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to rename his party TRS as BRS. But what is the reaction of the people to this decision? If sources are to be believed, a survey by the ruling TRS has shown that the people are not really approving of this name change. They are disappointed at the decision to give a new name to the party.
The survey has shown that a significant section has openly expressed disapproval of the name change. The general refrain is why the name Telangana is removed. What is the use of a party that does not have Telangana in its name, they asked. The general sentiment is negative, say the surveys.
These surveys were reportedly commissioned by some TRS MLAs and other key leaders to see whether the people accept the name change. The results have left them bewildered. A large number of the people have questioned the name change and asked what TRS is if there is no Telangana in its name.
Funnily, these leaders cannot inform TRS boss KCR about the public mood. Nor can they even convince the people about the need for the name change. As of now, they are sandwiched between a strong leader who brooks no dissidence and the people who cannot easily be convinced. Let’s wait and see how things pan out.
