After almost the entire Tamil film fraternity supported the Jallikattu movement taken upon by Tamil Nadu youth, even several Telugu film celebs including Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu tweeted in support of the movement undertaken to save their culture. Now, as AP youth are gearing up for a similar silent protest to achieve Special Status for the capital-less state, will the same Telugu celebs support our very own movement?
Although many Telugu celebs supported Jallikattu movement, it was Pawan Kalyan who played a crucial role in making the AP youth realize the power of silent protests. He already extended the full support of Jana Sena for the Special Status movement to take place on 26th January at RK beach in Vizag.
As Pawan has done his bit and helped the movement take birth, we need to see if other celebs join him and inspire their fans. They need not personally join the protest and a simple supportive tweet is enough to instill courage and dedication among their followers towards the movement.
As Mahesh was born and bred in Chennai, he must have felt the need to support Jallikattu, which was appreciable. However, it’s the Telugu people who made him a superstar and his support for the special status movement will definitely inspire his millions of fans to take part in the protest.
Jr NTR’s stand at this protest is also crucial as he too commands a huge fan base. However, his ties with ruling TDP are at stake if he supports this movement.
Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Prabhas and even megastar are mum on this. Probably, they are wary of the consequences if the protest turns violent. However, their support can create a huge impact on their fans.
On the other hand, some young heroes like Nikhil, Sundeep Kishan, Sampoornesh Babu, Siva Balaji and some filmmakers have also supported the movement with their tweets. Sundeep Kishan is gearing to even join the protest.
CM Chandrababu Naidu looks to be silently watching the happenings as he has neither condemned nor supported the movement.YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy has extended his support though.
Interestingly, TS youth are supporting the AP special status movement by creating awareness on social media.
