TDP Telangana unit Working President A Revanth Reddy’s reported decision to switch loyalties to Congress stirred a political storm within the yellow party .
The Telugu Desam split vertically into two groups – ‘Anti Revanth and Pro Revanth.’ The anti revanth group was headed by politburo member Mothkupalli Narasimhulu.
Mothkupalli has been opposing Revanth proposal to sail the TDP along with Congress in the next elections. The politburo member was demanding party high command joining hands with TRS only.
Senior leaders R Prakash Reddy, R Chandrasekhar Reddy, Chada Suresh Reddy, M Amarnath Babu and MLA S Venkata Veeriah strongly condemned Revanth’s anti party activities. The other leaders – V Narendar Reddy, K Dayakar Reddy and E Ramana were supporting Revanth.
On the insistence of the anti Revanth group, the party high command would take disciplinary action against Revanth in a week or ten days. Before that, the party is mulling to serve a show cause notice on the leader. Giving a clear indication that action against Revanth is imminent, Ramana in a statement warned the leaders from state to village level not to make anti party comments as TDP Chief already decided to discuss poll alliances with other parties only during the elections.
