Telangana: CR Biswal committee suggests a hike of salaries for govt employees

Keeping an end to long waiting, the Pay Revision Commission(PRC) issued its suggestions on the hike of salaries for the government issues. The PRC report is available on the Commission’s website.

The 1st PRC report has suggested that the salary of the government employees should be increased by 7.5 percent on the basic pay. While the minimum pay was fixed at Rs 19,000, the maximum pay was fixed at Rs 1,62,700.

On the other hand, the CR Biswal committee has suggested that the House Rent Allowance (HRA) should be reduced on the basic pay. The committee said, in Hyderabad, the HRA should be reduced by 6 percent to 24 from 30 percent.

One crucial suggestion from the PRC is that the retirement age of the government employees should be increased to 60 years from the existing age of 58 years, reports claimed.

Following the PRC suggestions, the Telangana Non-Gazetted Officer Association (TNGO) and Telangana Gazetted Officers(TGO) are expected to meet Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar.

It is said that the main agenda behind the bodies meeting the CS is to brief the issues faced by the officers in the state.

According to the media reports, the three-member formed on the PRC is scheduled to meet today at the BRK Bhavan. While CS Somesh Kumar leads the committee, it comprises Principal Secretaries Ramakrishna Rao and Rajat Kumar.
