The government of Telangana is swiftly making its moves against the recent order of Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) to use only 3 TMC (one thousand million cubic feet) limit. T-government has knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the order of Brijesh Kumar Tribunal Award and sought fresh hearing by Tribunal to decide the legitimate share of Krishna waters for Telangana.
The Telangana government on Monday filed a petition for the same in the Apex court. However, as a bench headed by Justice Sudhansu Jyoti Mukhopadhaya and Justice N.V. Ramana gently recused itself from hearing the petition, it will now be referred to another bench to decide on the admissibility. Seeking a stay, T-govt. alleged that the undivided AP government did not argue issues related to the Telangana properly before the Tribunal.
On flip side, government of AP is retaliating the allegations and claims made by Telangana government. It instead took on T-government and said it’s ready for the legal battle. It may be recalled that KCR has lashed out at KRMB chairman SKG Pandit and went on to the extent of abusing him as “mindless nincompoop” (“Sannasi”) which received severe flak as this is seen as first-ever direct attack on the head of a Constitutional Body.
