Director Srikanth Addala stunned everyone with the teaser and trailer of his upcoming film ‘Peda Kapu’ which is releasing on 28th September. Known for his class family films like ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’, ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ and ‘Mukunda’, Srikanth raised many eyebrows when he arrived with a raw mass action thriller like ‘Peda Kapu – 1’.
We have seen many directors like Dasari, Kodi Ramakrishna, K Viswanath and others act in their own films. Srikanth Addala is following the same path and his character is going to be important for the story and he will even be seen mouthing some Godavari-style cuss words in the movie. When asked about the reason behind turning into an actor, Srikanth Addala said that it was supposed to be done by Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir.
Addala added that the actor okayed the script but did not turn up for the shooting. With a lot of actors already locking their call sheets for the film, his associate Kishore suggested Addala to play the role himself. Though he was hesitant initially, he reportedly got around the idea and did the character. Addala confirmed that he had no interest in acting and the small appearances he gave during his assistant director days were also done out of compulsion.
