Wonder how times change and how the dramatis personae change. In 2019, when Jagan came to power, he formed his first council of ministers. Now, two-and-a-half years later, he is forming a new council of ministers. But the person who sat with YS Jagan and prepared the final list of the ministers -to-be has changed.
In 2019, it was party general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Vijaya Sai Reddy, who along with YS Jagan decided on the ministers. Both finalised the names and accordingly the fortunes of some leaders changed for the better. They became ministers. Vijaya Sai Reddy was seen as the number 2 in the YSRCP hierarchy.
But, this time, Vijaya Sai Reddy is nowhere in the picture. He is confined to either Vizag or to Delhi with literally no say in the ministry formation. This time, YS Jagan’s advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is the only one who could sit with YS Jagan to finalise the list of ministers.
He and Jagan sat through for hours and picked the future ministers. No wonder, Sajjala was the most sought after person this time.
Vijaya Sai Reddy has clearly fallen from grace and is no longer seen as the important member of the inner ring of YSRCP. His visits to Tadepalli too have come down considerably. Till recently, his word was law in Vizag. But of late, even that seems to have changed. As of now, journalist-turned-politician Sajjala is basking under the sun
