Post the Huzurabad debacle, there is utter confusion in the Congress. The party, which till the other day looked capable of taking on the might of KCR, is now looking vulnerable. Some of the key leaders are already looking to leave the party. Many more have begun questioning the leadership qualities of TPCC chief Revanth Reddy
Congress Party disciplinary committee deputy chairperson MA Khan has already sent in his resignation. Former MLA from undivided Adilabad district Prem Sagar Rao too is unhappy with the party and is rumoured to be readying up to resign from the party.
Sources say that a key Congress leader, who was considered the alter-ego of a CM of the undivided AP, is said to be behind the rebellion. He is said to have turned the farmhouse of an important entrepreneur into his office to create disaffection in the Telgnana Congress Party.
This senior Congressman was also a Rajya Sabha MP till recently and tried to play a similar role in edging out YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from the party. It is another matter that the state had to be bifurcated and that YS Jagan became the CM of truncated Andhra Pradesh. Known to be Machiavellian, this leader is believed to be playing a key role in destabilising Revanth Reddy.
Sources say that he is prompting senior Congressmen to revolt against Revanth Reddy. He is said to be encouraging them to write to the party high command against the new TPCC chief. Interestingly, he is also trying to project himself as the supporter of Revanth Reddy. In fact, he played a key role in bringing several sulking Congressmen to Revanth’s swearing in ceremony at the Gandhi Bhavan.
