Dil Raju’s Sankranthi 2017 blockbuster ‘Shatamanam Bhavathi’ not just ruled box office and Television, but also won a National Film Award. Could anyone have predicted that this emotion-filled film would become a flop? Well, sensible music director Mickey J Meyer did.
In a candid conversation with a daily, Meyer said that he used to assess films while doing re-recording and that he thought both Shatamanam Bhavathi and Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Happy Days’ would flop.
‘My predictions have come wrong on many occasions and the best examples are Happy Days and SB. I didn’t understand Happy Days when I first saw it and predicted that it would be a dud. But, the film became a blockbuster. Later, while doing re-recording, I thought that Shatamanam Bhavathi would not connect with audiences. I immediately called Dil Raju garu and told the same. He however assured me that the film would become a hit. I was yet again proved wrong,’ revealed Mickey.
He added that he has now stopped predicting results and giving feedback to makers during post-production.
