Former Tirupati MLA Sugunamma made sensational remarks on Tirupati sitting MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. She said that her granddaughter BV Keerthi came to Tirupati last October after completion of her higher education.
Like her grandfather, she competed as a corporator in the 18th Division with the intention of serving the people. She shed tears by saying that the ruling party leaders were looking to arrest Keerthi on illegal case charges.
Sugunamma announced that Keerthi would continue her fame as her political successor. Sugunamma’s husband Venkataramana won as Tirupati MLA in the past from the Congress. In 2014, he contested from the TDP and won.
Sugunamma won the by-election in 2015 with the death of her husband. She contested again in the 2019 elections and lost to Bhumana Karunakar Reddy by a margin of 708 votes.
