The untimely demise of Sridevi, hailed as India’s first female superstar, is being termed as an irreplaceable loss to film industry. Several actors and filmmakers disheartened as they would never get the chance to work with her anymore. What about the films that supposed to star her? Who will replace her in the roles that were created especially for her?
Rajamouli had earlier replaced Sridevi with Ramya Krishna for ‘Sivagami’ character in ‘Baahubali’. Top Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar however can’t or don’t want to replace her in his ambitious film, he rather preferred to shelve the project altogether.
According to the latest reports, Karan has decided to shelve ‘Shiddat’, a film that he had been planning for two years. Sridevi, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt were on board to play the lead characters. But, after the sudden demise of Sridevi, Karan has now apparently decided to shelve the project, rather than finding a replacement for her. Such was the bonding he had with Sridevi.
Besides shelving the project, he has reportedly taken both Sridevi’s daughters – Janhvi and Khushi under his wings. He is already launching Janhvi in Bollywood this year, and will do the same for Khushi in due time.
