TS High Court Slams State Government Over Dharani Registrations

The land registrations through the Dharani portal in Telangana has reached the state High Court for one more time. The two-bench heard a petition filed over the Dharani registrations.

The High Court rapped the state government for insisting to provide the Aadhaar card and caste details while booking a slot to register lands on the Dharani portal.

During the hearing, the bench said despite the State Advocate General assuring the court that the details of caste and Aadhar cards a=will not be taken, the state asking for such information is a ploy.

The bench also found fault with the state government for not using the Computer-aided Administration of Registration Department (CARD) software to register the non-agricultural properties without seeking the details of Aadhaar and other details.

The bench said the state government cannot seek information of Aadhar card and other details for registrations and asked the government to file an affidavit with the undertaking.

The panel adjourned the next hearing of the cases to Thursday and directed the state Chief Secretary to file an affidavit by the next Thursday.
