Political parties have been contesting in a cut-throat competition with a motto to reign this year’s GHMC elections.
In this regard, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) chief and Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya arrived Hyderabad to campaign for the forthcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, on November 22.
He triggered a major issue when he called Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar. Twitteratis slammed the MP for the tweet, which began with the line ‘Dear young people of Bhagyanagar’.
Later, a hashtag – #ItIsHyderabadNotBhagyanagar – started trending, asking the Bangalore South MP to go back.
Although Surya was in opinion of addressing the city as ‘Bhagyanagar’ by identifying with its rich heritage and culture. It didn’t go well with the netizens and it was learnt that soon the post was deleted. Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi too took a dig at him.
While addressing, the MP asserted, BJP will win the assembly polls in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. He affirmed whole south India will be saffronised .
Earlier a couple of days ago #dengeyTejasviSurya had been trending when Telugites lashed out at him by quoting a previous post that has derogatory remarks on female, which encouraged misogyny.
