US: Immigrants Graduates Getting Good Pay Than the Locals!

Indians prefer America for better options be it jobs or education. It has almost become a second home for many. Indian festivals are celebrated in America in a big way. Now a recent survey has said that immigrants are doing well in terms of earning and they left the locals behind too.

Thinktank Migration Policy Institute (MPI) based in Washington carried out a story on how graduates are doing in the US. The study says that Indian immigrants are seeing good income compared to local Americans with Degrees.

Giving reasons behind this, the study said that immigrant college graduates are more educated than local Americans. While 53 percent of college students who are born in the United States have a master’s degree, 60 percent of immigrant students have a master’s degree and a higher degree.

The immigrant students concentrating on the Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics(STEM) and health fields is also a big reason behind the immigrant students earning more than the local Americans as per the study conducted by the think tank.

Talking about education, the study said that the majority of immigrants have the highest degree in the United States and the numbers are very less in Americans.

The study said that the United States-born peers earn $6,500 per month. In comparison, immigrant students earn $7,140 per month. Immigrants earning more than the locals and having a better degree than them show the skills and abilities of immigrants when compared to locals.

Having better skills like numeracy, language proficiency, and the ability to do work effectively also pay a big role in this. The study says that the locals showing laziness in getting the job and doing work might also be a reason for this.

The cost of living is very high in America and the immigrants have to do some or other job to support their ends meet. As it is a matter of struggle for existence, the immigrants do every job that comes their way.

Besides doing mere jobs like a cashier at petrol bunks and supports at the warehouse, immigrants do jobs at companies as well. Given the skills and language proficiency immigrants have they are preferred more by employers. All these aspects make Immigrants earn more than the locals.
