Ajith Kumar has dropped Thala, Ultimate Star and every tag that fans, film Industry has given him over the years, recently. He is a huge box office star in Tamil Cinema and a known face in other languages too.The actor did Sushim’s role in Shah Rukh Khan’s Ashoka and his film Vaali became a huge blockbuster in Telugu too. Premalekha movie gave him a huge recognition in Telugu households as well along with Tamil Cinema.
Actor’s recent blockbuster Viswasam did good business in Telugu markets too. But in comparison with Vijay and Rajnikanth, his market did not take off as theirs’ in other languages.Still, he got a huge number of theatres for his new release Valimai in Telugu states. We hear that the distributors have allocated 750 theatres in total for the film in Telugu states only.
Movie is releasing in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi all over India on 24th February and 750 theatres is not a small number at all. It is almost equal to the number of theatres that a star film in Telugu gets on the release day.Telugu stars still don’t get such number or such reception in Tamil Nadu. Bheemlanayak, which is releasing on the next day, might get 100 screens in total Tamil Nadu and most of them will be in and around Chennai only.
Let’s hope to see better reception from Tamil distributors in coming days as Tamil audiences did show interest in watching Telugu films like Pushpa The Rise, Baahubali, Arjun Reddy in theatres.
