Casting Couch is not a new word in the film industry. It is an existing and prevalent issue in the industry, with many celebs opening up about it from time to time instead of denying the existence.
Now, veteran actress Annapoorna revealed her opinion about the casting couch. Annapoorna, who came into the industry at a young age, is known for her portrayal as a mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother etc.
She started her film career as a lead heroine alongside Mohan Babu in a Swargam Narakam directed by Dasari Narayana Rao in 1975.
Speaking about the casting couch, she said that the mistake is not always on one side. It happens only when the two are involved. She said casting couch is an unnecessary affair, and it exists in every field.
Most of the women deny the harassment because of their family and respect. “If someone is subjected to such harassment, they should respond immediately and speak up. For those who are striving for opportunities in the industry, this harassment is high,” she said.
However, with her statements, Annapoorna obliquely said casting couch exists in the industry.
