Veteran playback singer G. Anand passed away on Thursday evening due to COVID-19. He was 67.
The ace singer, who had tested positive a few days ago, breathed his last after battling the virus and joined in the list of celebs who lost their lives because of the novel coronavirus. As per reports, his oxygen saturation fell to 55 and a timely ventilator could not be given, which lead to his death.
Born in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, G Anand began his career in Chennai and rose to fame in the Telugu film industry after the death of Ghantasala.
He debuted with Amerika Ammayi in 1976 with the song Oka venuvu vinipinchenu anuraaga geethika, which became a tremendous hit. Anand has also started a musical group called ‘Swara Madhuri’ and travelled all over the globe and made nearly 600 shows.
